Re Brand Progress - CV

Its now August and I am aware that I need to get this branding printed and out there as soon as possible. I decided to start on my CV, applying the same branding I had done to my business cards.

I have kept most of the same information from my initial CV, however, I have taken out some of the information which I thought wasn't relevant. I later decided to add in my twitter and behance accounts, as then people can follow me on these if they want to. I am considering making a facebook page to promote myself in the future.

I think the text looks much better in this font, Arvo. I have kept the same A5 page size and margin format from my old CV.

I have been altering things like font size, weight, kerning and leading, to get things looking perfect. This is actually my favourite part of designing, I think because I like organising things. I knew I needed to make it clear that I am a Graphic Designer and Illustrator, but wasn't quite sure where to place this.

I was feeling like there was something not quite right about the page design, which I decided was because there needed to be more white space. The margins meant that the text went quite close to the edge of the page, which I decided to change. This meant I needed to go through the whole CV again, making sure things fitted on to the lines as they were supposed to.

Feeling like I'm getting somewhere, but I decide to cut out a bit of text which I think doesn't add much to what I am saying about myself.

Decide to link to my social media, using the symbols to take up less space and also because I think this will look better. At first, I use the twitter 't', but after looking at their guidelines, I realise you are now supposed to use the bird logo not the 't'.

Instead of just using the bird, I put it in a box, and add in the behance logo in the same format.

Now, I am happy with the format of the text, I just need to work out how to lay out the examples of work pages, and what work I should actually put on there to get across what I am trying to say about myself. I think I will get more replies from focusing on my editorial design than my illustration.

The examples of work page turned out to be a lot harder than I thought to sort out. I had to decide what images to use that would represent what I was writing about myself.

Decided these were my two best projects, but then came lots of re-arranging to get the text and images in the right place...

Final CV with examples of work

Final arrangement of text and images. To be printed A5 size.
