After attending the design shows in London, I decided it would be a good idea to create some mini portfolios. These are good to carry around with you to places where you might bump into people from the industry, so you can show off your work. You can keep CV's and business cards in the back so you've always got them with you. I think it will be good to carry them around when I go on studio visits. I'm going to create both an A5 and A4 mini portfolio, with the same style as the rest of my personal branding.
I'll start with the A5 portfolio, both will be designed the same but there may be a few changes to the A4, such as layout of text etc.
A5.

I'm thinking the front cover will be something very basic like this, with my logo and title on it. Might add my contact details so that they are memorable.

Here I'm playing around with the design of the introduction page I'm going to have for each project. I've been looking through my online portfolio to decide which projects to include, as I want to show off a mix of skills but not focus too much on illustration, which was probably my focus point last year. I also need to think about which order the projects should be placed in, as this may determine which ones are remembered afterwards.
I like the idea of the black background introduction page, so that each project is clearly separated, and also so this style matches my business cards. On the previous example I've made my logo a focus point, but I think the title of the project is the most important thing for these pages. I don't know if I'll have text on the same page as the images, or just on the introduction page.
I've been experimenting with putting the logo on the pages, but I think its too much. The focus needs to be on the examples of work shown. I'm struggling to decide on which Peacocks images to use and how to lay them out.
Now I'm deciding what projects to show and what the perfect image to page ratio is? I don't want the pages to look crowded but I think this might be too simple.
Some projects where there is more to show than the others, will get the introduction page as well as two extra pages.
I don't think I can really do much more to this until I've finished the Little Beauties work to include this in my portfolio, or if I don't like this to decide what to include instead.

For my A4 mini portfolio, I've started by re-adapting my CV so that it fits in A4, and I can include multiple copies to give out. I think this A4 layout works well, and looks smart and neat.
