PPD Task: Spread The Word (Pt 1)

TASK

Create an appropriate online presence that can be used as a focal point for your design practice, professional communications and visual identity.

PART 1: YOUR WEBSITE

You will be introduced to the basics of web design and web design software through a series of workshops. Based on these workshops propose/produce the structure and content of your own personal website. Keep it simple and make sure that your visual identity from Task 5 forms the basis of your online brand.

RESPONSE

After the first dreamweaver workshop I decided to buy my domain name while it was still available. I'm excited to get uploading content as soon as I know what to do now claudiagriffin.com has been purchased!

It was very complicated swapping my domains over and sorting out the hosting but I got there in the end. I literally spent a whole day sorting out all the different codes! This is new to me and so so confusing. Unfortunately I've had problems actually uploading anything to the page, so I've had to put my tumblr on my CV.

(what claudiagriffin.com looks like at the moment!)

Here is what I want my website to look like, based on some of the things that I saw, that worked well, in the website design research I did. (View Research)

I don't yet know how to make this website on dreamweaver as its still very new to me and I haven't had time to learn how to use it properly. I've bought the web standard solutions book and started reading that, and made it my target so that by the end of the summer claudiagriffin.com will be up and running, designed by me. This seems like a massive challenge at the moment, and for now I have been using my various social media accounts to show off my work.

Here is a basic idea for what I could put on the homepage to re-direct visitors to my tumblr.

Once all my hand ins are done I can start figuring out dreamweaver!
