Little Beauties Freelance Work Progress [Business cards and logo]

Here is the progress I am making with the work I have been asked to do for Little Beauties. I have been in constant contact with the client throughout the design process, to make sure I am designing what they are asking for. The business cards are getting printed through overnightprints, so I have looked at their design specifications to make sure everything is right. http://www.overnightprints.co.uk/main.php?A=specs

- Here you can see I have re-created the logo [left,1], using a grid system to ensure that it is equal. I have created it as a vector on illustrator so that it can be enlarged without pixelating. The client had made the original logo [right, 2] using photoshop, meaning that it had pixelated when it had been enlarged.

1.2.

- This is the original logo [right,2], designed by the client. It uses three different shades of purple, and the petals are not symmetrical. It has been flattened into a jpg file, and the client wanted it to be re-made neater without the 'LB'.

- I was unsure of which colour to use, as you can see through me picking out colours from the websites, a number of different purples have been used. I selected these then asked the client to confirm the colour.

- Here I have tried out the business card design, based on the original, but neatened up and with the new logo. I have used a light purple instead of the white.

- I have experimented with the layout of the contact information on the back. On the original card, all the information was just placed in the centre, and it didn't look organised.

- The client wanted the font Georgia to be used on the back for information, and for a lighter purple to be used.

- The client wanted the inside of the petal border to be thicker.

- The client then suggested adding her facebook and twitter details to the card, as she updates these regularly.

- Here are the file specifications from overnight prints. I downloaded their template business card file to ensure everything was within the bleed lines.

- Here you can see none of the design will be lost when cutting.
