Design Strategies

Presentation Briefing

What is it you want to do and how have you come to this decision?
This is a plan for third year - all areas should link - ppd, dp, dc and cts.
You need to put a plan in to place that will help you to establish and achieve your goals

Prepare and deliver a 7-10 minute presentation that reflects your experiences over the summer break and states your proposed plans for the 3rd year.

Your presentation should focus on:

INDUSTRIAL RESEARCH / STUDIO VISITS

Activities you have undertaken to broaden your understanding of the design industry and evaluating what you have learnt and how it has informed your practice

DISSERTATION PROGRESS

What research activities you have done and decisions you have made

DESIGN PRACTICE

What do you want to be? Who do you want to work for/with? What kind of work do you want to produce?

NEGOTIATED BRIEFS

How have you maintained your design practice over summer?

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS PLAN

Evaluate your current skills and identify specific area of focus. List practical, personal and professional skills

//

As what I do over summer will ultimately change all of these things, I think its best if I start preparing this presentation a week or two before I go back to college. However, it is important to consider these factors now, and to be aware of them.

I've already started lots of research for my dissertation proposal, as this is something I'm really interested in, and this has lead to an idea for one of the 10 briefs. I need to focus more on my industrial research, trying to get a studio visit, as I need to learn more about the design industry.

Its important that this presentation looks good, and I will take on board the feedback from the last presentation to ensure my quality has improved. I think I will probably use images only, apart from maybe a title for each page, as this is all I need to remind me of the content.
