- Business cards need to be produced before applying for work placements. (Can print at college or look at Moo Online Printing)
- Create a CV, not a standard human resources one but a creative one. Look at creative CVs. Use a photograph of yourself to jog memory. Don't need to include all of your academic history and interests, but include relevant skills such as which software you can use.
- Create a contact list of professionals you want to get in touch with, and back it up so you don't lose it.
- Websites to look at: Core77, Design directory
- Build up relationships with professionals, arrange meetings at the studio (if possible) before asking for a placement.
- Think about how you would showcase what you do, for example, with an iPad, you can take your website around with you.
- Don't give in! Keep emailing, writing, ringing until you get a placement!
