I've already printed my business cards in digital print, but I sent off for my free sample from moo.com. I was impressed by the quality of these card, printed on to 'green' stock, to mean they are more environmentally friendly, and also so details can be written on the back of them. They are a slightly thicker stock than the cards I printed, and the colours are exactly perfect. At the moment, printing my business cards with moo seems a bit pricy, but for the exhibition show next year it is definitely worth the investment. Here are some photos of my cards (with moo watermark).
I also sent off for a sample pack of the ordinary moo products and of their luxe business cards, as next year this may be what I print. The luxe business cards with the opportunity for triplexing would look great next year. On this design, a blue card in between the front and back would be perfect. They would obviously be quite expensive to print, but they would be memorable, so I could just get some to send to people I had been talking to.
Moo print more than just business cards, there are postcards, stickers, labels, mini cards and more. It would be good next year to print on to a variety of stocks and find a creative way of giving out/displaying my cards rather than just laying them out.
Next year, my idea is to create a series of backs with my images on, with a simple front so that theres space for details to be written, but different examples of my work can be seen on the backs. I could print my cards onto the rounded corner business cards to make them stand out a bit more. I could print some post cards and writing cards for any correspondence I have with other professionals.
